John Dickson
Managing Director
John Dickson, a highly skilled Joiner to trade with over twenty years experience, who founded JAD in 2005 & incorporated the business in September 2012.
John is responsible for all site operations, quality control and delivery of our projects, has a proven track record of establishing excellent relationships with clients from throughout all sectors with his no nonsense approach infectious to partners who simply want their projects delivered on time and to budget.


Steven McKenzie
Operations Director
Steven McKenzie, a respected business developer with over twenty five years construction experience joined JAD in October 2017.
Leaving school in 1994 to join the family Building & Flooring business where he worked for seven years as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor before moving into Recruitment in 2000 spending almost seventeen years with Now Careers specialising in construction & engineering roles placing both blue & white collar candidates across all sectors including New House Build, Main Contract & Fit-Out.
He soon moved up through the ranks to Regional Director for Scotland before moving into consultancy supporting various clients with new sales, account management, business retention and recruitment services. Steven is head of communications, responsible for all internal & external recruitment, leads all new business development. He has a proven track record of establishing excellent relationships with both colleagues and clients, with a flexible approach to win confidence and credibility from site team to senior management.
Jamie Peacocke
Contracts Manager
A time served joiner, Jamie served his apprenticeship with the award winning Reywood Construction Ltd of Edinburgh before forming his own multi trade building company.
He successfully ran for 11 years carrying out all aspects of new build, fit out and renovation projects for private & commercial clients across the Central Belt of Scotland. This experience allowed him to make the transition into project and contracts management before heading up a team within the busy specialist insurance sector for Lambert Contracts Ltd. He brings us a wealth of knowledge, a proven track record of employee management and much needed support to our Construction Director, John. On starting with JAD in June 2018 Jamie said “ I was really excited to join JAD as we continue to secure great contracts from new and existing clients. The growth has been nothing short of remarkable and it’s all down to the JAD team’s drive and ambition to do more”.
Paul McKee
Construction Manager
A time served joiner in Northern Ireland. Paul has worked on private residential housing gaining a large variety of experience in new build and renovation projects.
Achieving a contract for the erection of timber frame nursing homes throughout the UK took Paul’s career to a different level. He is a proven Supervisor/Site manager, with strong communication and leadership skills with attention for detail, who can work autonomously or as a leader of a team with wide experience in both public and private sectors. Experienced in a multitude of forms of structures, for both private and public schemes. A first aider, well versed in all aspects of Health and Safety on site and extensive exposure on producing quality end products for the client. Adept at finding ways to motivate construction teams to exceed expectations and maintain high standards.

Dean Owens
Office Manager
Dean Owens started with JAD in October 2017. Upon leaving school in 2002 Dean spent six years with Barratt Homes undertaking various roles within the Finance Department including Payroll Administrator and Senior Finance Assistant.
He moved in to the Recruitment Sector with Brightwork in 2008, and spent two years leading the Finance Department before embarking on a period of travelling and working throughout the South Pacific and East Asia. After resettling in Edinburgh in 2015, Dean undertook many short-term temporary roles, before joining JAD.
Dean supports both the New House Build and Fit-Out Divisions with their respective recruitment needs as well as assisting with Business Development and also uses his vast experience and expertise to manage various Financial aspects of JAD, organise Staff Training and ensure the company are compliant with current legislative requirements as we continue to grow. Dean’s role is an evolving, ever-changing one and he is an integral part of the team.
Bryan Howard
Senior Quantity Surveyor
Bryan Howard joined JAD in March 2019 to head up our growing commercial department.
After working several years throughout different industries he decided to go back to university where he studied Quantity Surveying successfully graduating in 2012. Over the last eight years he has gained project experience whilst working across Construction, Infrastructure and Energy sectors for various main contractors, sub-contractors and consultancies and has made an excellent start to his journey with JAD supporting our Housing, Fit Out Divisions and mentoring our Graduate QS, Matthew Legge. He is fast becoming an integral part of the management team and we all look forward to a very bright future together.
Ryan Patterson
Senior Quantity Surveyor
Ryan Patterson joined JAD in May 2020 to strengthen our Commercial team, support further growth and to assist with our expansion into the Principal contracting sector.
His career in Quantity Surveying started straight from school, attending Glasgow Caledonian University whilst working for HBG now BAM Construction. Since graduating in 2006 Ryan has worked for a range of main and sub-contractors on new build, refurbishment and fit-out projects throughout several sectors including Education, Retail, Nuclear, Defence, Residential & Healthcare and is ideally suited to JAD’s team as we continue to grow.
Claire Reid
Payroll Manager
Claire Reid joined JAD in 2018 as Payroll Manager.
After leaving school in 2002, Claire moved on to further education at Edinburgh’s Telford College, achieving a HNC in Business Management, then completed her degree at Edinburgh’s Napier University. She has been a great addition to the office team and supports Steven and Dean in various compliance tasks, as well as contractual works and many important administrative tasks.
Darren Sweeney
Quantity Surveyor
After leaving school in 2005 Darren started a three year apprenticeship NVQ Level 3 in Wood Turning machinery for Thornbridge Sawmills, Grangemouth.
Sadly due to the decline in the building industry his position was made redundant. However after a short break he joined Carillion’s busy Energy Services Division where his work ethic was quickly identified and rewarded with an opportunity to join the surveying department. After 4 years with the main contractor Darren moved on and has since worked for a Glasgow based decorating contractor overseeing commercial & school refurbishment projects and more recently with a small light civils & maintenance company. After noticing the rise of JAD and learning of their proven reputation from throughout the industry I approached John and Steven for an opportunity to join the commercial team and I’m now delighted to find myself working for a company with such a great culture, togetherness and “Can do attitude” where I can develop and excel in my career
Jamie Wishart
Site Manager
Jamie has worked in the construction industry since leaving school in 1998 with projects ranging from one off bespoke builds on the Orkney Islands, large flatted developments in Glasgow to building two private bespoke mansions houses at Archerfield Estate, East Lothian.
In September 2013 he started working with JAD primarily throughout the New House Build sector and has since gained his Joinery, Supervisor and more recently his Site Manager qualifications with us. When asked about his role Jamie said “Being the Joinery Site Manager for JAD is giving me a wealth of knowledge and understanding of site management, how to get the best out of my team, work with clients/contractors and the confidence to further my career even further. I’m proud to be part of such a great team and look forward to contributing to JAD’s success!”
Murray Mccormack
Contracts Manager
Murray served his Apprenticeship with Edinburgh based company Martin’s Shopfitters Ltd working throughout Scotland.
After ten years in the Retail sector he moved onto various projects such as new build schools, universities, hospitals, commercial sites and more recently working in the new housing sector. Since joining JAD in the Summer of 2017 as a Finishing Joiner he quickly progressed into Site Supervision from January 2018 after passing his SSSTS & Crane Supervisor exams. Murray is an integral member of our team, a skilled Joiner, great communicator who always gets the best out of his team when delivering his projects and is looking forward to sitting his Site Manager SMSTS course early 2020.
Cheyne Bisset
Site Supervisor
An excellent All Rounder and SSSTS qualified Joiner, Cheyne Bisset served in the British Armed Forces for 9 years before joining JAD in May 2016.
During this time he has been involved in all aspects of new build housing across the Central Belt of Scotland and excels when overseeing apprentices from our JAD Academy. He has our “Can Do” attitude with his own ethos of “If you want your work to be square don’t cut corners” which sums him up really.
John Paul Cambridge
Site Supervisor
An excellent All Rounder and SSSTS/SMSTS qualified Joiner, John Paul joined JAD in November 2018 to work on a large library refurbishment at Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh.
During this time he has been involved in all aspects of new build housing, flats, fit out & renovation projects for private & commercial clients across the Central Belt of Scotland. He brings us a wealth of experience and proven track record of managing teams, delivering projects on time and to budget.
Daryl Scott
Site Supervisor
An excellent All Rounder and SSSTS qualified Joiner, Daryl completed his apprenticeship with JAD in 2004 and has been with the business ever since.
During this time he has been involved in all aspects of new build housing, flats, fit out & renovation projects for private & commercial clients across the Central Belt of Scotland. He brings us a wealth of experience and proven track record of managing teams, delivering projects on time and to budget.
Allan Linton
Health & Safety Consultant
Allan Linton (AV Safety) has partnered JAD since 2012 and oversees all H & S compliance, SMAS accreditation, CSCS registration & Risk Assessments/Method Statements.
His attention to detail, personal standards and his knowledge of safety is always of the highest calibre. He is a consummate professional who will always go the extra mile to delivery on every project he is involved in, JAD are proud to have his alliance.
Grant Cameron
Contractual Consultant
Grant Cameron began working with JAD on a consultancy basis in November 2018.
He is a vastly experienced Quantity Surveyor and Operations Manager, and he provides JAD with advice and support on a variety of topics – ranging from Contract Risk Reviews, Negotiation and Administration; to Dispute Avoidance, Resolution and Final Account Preparation. Grant has a BSc in Quantity Surveying, as well as a LLM Master of Laws (Construction Law), and his guidance is invaluable as JAD continues to grow.
