Scope of work: JAD Joinery have been responsible for all aspects of carpentry and joinery at City & Country’s prestigious restoration of Edinburgh’s Donaldson’s College.
All our first fix joinery, roofing works and fire compartmentalization are carried out by our team of qualified and experienced joiners, working directly under equally experienced supervision. We liaise daily with the in-house design team to adapt and implement change where needed within the restraints of the buildings structure and conforming to conservation Scotland’s guidelines.
Our approach and ethos to the restoration of this iconic building is to conserve as much of the original material as possible. Our knowledge and expertise have allowed us to use different methods of repair to promote this philosophy.
We work closely with timber preservation companies to recognise and undertake any rot works within the structure. Our joiners have been able to adapt to all types of joinery within this project, such as vaulted ceilings, restoration of existing oak timber panels, fire and acoustic separation, roof build ups including Dormer window formations which are inclusive of high-level decking.
We work with several manufactured joiners of bespoke furniture and timber carvings, so we are able to manage the production and instalment of these on behalf of our valued Client City & Country.
